About the event

On Thursday, May 25th, 2023 - three years after the murder of George Floyd - the MNJRC will join the community celebrations reflecting on our past, our progress, and the work that lies ahead. Join us at 5:30 pm at The Square event space in George Floyd Square where we will discuss the history of policing and historic opportunities with Dr. Yohuru Williams and Dr. Michael Lansing; the work in community to shape a consent decree between the Minnesota Department of Human Rights and the Minneapolis Police Department; and engage in a facilitated conversation about how these efforts have felt and what comes next.

Following the event, attendees are invited to join the candlelight vigil at George Floyd Square as part of the Rise & Remember celebration. Food will be provided and all are welcome.

This event is free, but donations are accepted at www.mnjrc.org/donate
