About the event
For too long, those most impacted by Minnesota's criminal legal system have been left out of the very decision-making processes that shape it. The Minnesota Justice Research Center aims to change that, starting with our brand new Just Lead Fellowship. The 13-month program for formerly incarcerated individuals will develop participants' leadership skills and capacities, helping them to harness their firsthand knowledge of the system to prepare them for leadership positions on state boards and commissions.
Please join us at Pillsbury House on June 19th at 6pm, 2025, for our fellowship kickoff and information session. You can expect:
An overview of the fellowship structure and goals
A walkthrough of the target board opportunities, including the Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines Commission and Cannabis Expungement Board
An opportunity to connect with program staff and ask questions about the application process
Dinner provided. This fellowship is exclusively for individuals with prior incarceration experience.
